Pyramid is a great group drinking game because it revolves around players allocating drinks to one another. Since the drink denominations increase as the game goes on, there are often plenty of chances to take revenge on players who have previously made you drink.

How to play the Pyramid drinking game

You will need a pack of playing cards to play Pyramid. To start, lay out some cards face down to create a 5-4-3-2-1 pyramid, and then deal out the remainder of the pack to the players. Each row is worth a certain number of drinks. Cards in the first row of 5 are worth two, the second row four, the third six, the fourth eight, until the final row of 1, which is worth 10 drinks. Cards are overturned individually one at a time, starting with the first row. If the first card overturned in the first row is a 5, any player holding a 5 can place their card on top and allocate 2 drinks to another player. If a player has two 5’s, they would be able to place both down and allocate 4 drinks. If an Ace was overturned in the third row, and somebody places an Ace on top, 6 drinks could be allocated. Ultimately, the aim of the game is to get rid of all of your cards because whoever has the most left at the end has to ride the bus.
